NATE TURNED 1 YR & 2 MONTHS

It's amazing to think that exactly 2 months ago, we celebrated Nate's 1st birthday. That turned out pretty well, we had a blast, we were exhausted and we had a great time!

Kids nowadays just surprises us with how quick they learn from what they see or heard! It's such a wonderful thing to see them every day with a new ability they learned. It all pays off the hard work, labor and sleepless moments. Some of the few surprises he does now are these:

BITING! (ouch)
I can still remember how it felt! There was this one time he bit my hand so hard, I felt like I was burned! Nate isn't such a biter but when he bites, he bites BIG TIME! haha!

Biting is actually a really common phase for toddlers and won't last too long. Since they can't communicate emotions, particularly frustration, they bite. Whenever he bites though, I'd try to make him understand that it's not acceptable. (I hope he understands, haha)

HUMMING!
Just a few days ago, he started humming his ABCs whenever he hears it played. He also does the same when we sing it to him. The first time I heard it, aaaahhw! I was in wonderland.

BOOKS
When he wants us to read a book for him, he'd say: "BOHK"! It's so cute!

FOLLOWS SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS
"Give it to mama", "Go get the book", "Come here", are a few instructions he can simply follow now. Argh, these toddlers know how to make their parents smile!

There are more milestones he's achieved now but I don't want you to get bored reading all of them here. Haha. If you reached this far, thank you, I appreciate it with all my heart. :D Parenting is such a tiresome work to do, sometimes I'd like to escape for just a day but when you see them show their new learned abilities, aahhhh, everything's paid off!

  1. so adorable! Its overwhelming for moms to see her child's development through the years, parang kailan lang pagapang gapang then makikita mo naglalakad na. Nakakamiss din ung mga super baby days nila dba? The days passed so fast talaga, ur child is already big before you even know it, :)

  2. I love this quote "Accept the children the way we accept trees—with gratitude, because they are a blessing—but do not have expectations or desires. You don’t expect trees to change, you love them as they are." It is true that we just need to accept and love our own children no matter what. They are blessings from God.

  15. My son was a biter. He bit everyone. It turned out he would usually bite more when he was teething. And thank goodness they stopped after he could talk and express himself. He had been too frustrated previously!
