Months ago, we’ve already marked our 11.05 calendar for this year’s SECOND blogapalooza! Since I didn’t make it on the 1st Blogapalooza this year, I made sure that I’d make it on the 2nd Blogapalooza and I’m happy I made it!
Blogapalooza is a whole day event, so I was so torn on whether I should be part of the “early birds” or the “late comers”, lol. Or if I should go there early, leave around noon and just come back around 5 or 6 PM. I had to weigh my options. I wish I could stay the entire day but that's just not possible for now.
1. Go early – that means I’d be fresh from work, no sleep, vampire face, and Nate still sleeping. But on the bright side, I get to be one of the first to see the company booths and all their "pakulo".
2. Arrive late – which means I can sleep, prepare and not hurry up. Also, the big reveal happens at 6PM.
3. Go early, leave at noon, come back around 5 PM – this one seems like a good idea but WHERE DO I STAY AND GET A FEW HRS OF SLEEP?
shoutout to canva for my business card layout! :D
Finally, I decided I’d go with my 2nd option. And I was so thankful I did. The venue was outdoor and I heard from other bloggers that to go there early won’t be a good idea for moms with kids because for one, it was too hot, secondly, it was too crowded. I don’t think I will have the courage to be with the crowd, under the hot sun, with Nate, and still no sleep (baka himatayin ako, haha). Although I am very "game" when it comes to events, it’s a lot different now that I’m, er, let’s say, “a bit older”, ‘coz I need sleep more sleep now, more than ever! Lol.
These are the things that I love about Blogapalooza Horizons 2.0:
The Chance to See Other Bloggers
I don’t know too many bloggers or don’t have as many friends as other bloggers do, this is why I go to events like Blogapalooza so I get to meet and interact with other bloggers. Most of them, I didn’t really know but there are a few that I’ve known (and seen) in person. Some are only familiar to me because I see them online.
These are the only ones I had photo with, lol! with Nicole Paler, blogger couple Ralph and Michelle and Momi Berlin
As bloggers, it is good to be able to connect with other people who share the same passion as you do. Who knows, in the future this friend might be able to help you out and vice versa. Blogging is 'give and take', well, almost everything give and take in order to maintain a lasting relationship.
So I’m happy to be able to see more bloggers. I may not be able to talk to most of them but I got to interact with a few. I was also with Momi Berlin the whole time as we’ve agreed to go to the event together.
The Opportunity to Reach Out to Businesses
Blogapalooza remained the biggest B2B (business to blogger) event in the Philippines. That is why if you are looking to expand your scope, as much as possible, don’t miss Blogapalooza. And as expected, there were lots of booths set up outside the main hall where the program was happening. Most of them offers brochures about their company, what they do and what they offer their customers.
Some of the booths we visited don't have photos but here's a list
Habitat for Humanity
San Miguel Purefoods
There’s also a place to leave your business cards for them to contact you, this is why most bloggers (if not all), make sure to bring their business cards with them so they can leave it at the booths for their PR to be able to contact them (us) in all of their future campaigns, isn’t that cool?
We also got to play on the booths that have available games. It should’ve been nicer if my mobile internet cooperated with me at that time but nah, I couldn’t download any apps during that day, the internet was just sooooo sloooow! *cough, Globe, cough!*
The Informative Talks
During the event, each company was also given the time on stage to talk about their business, their products, what they do, what their campaigns are and what the customers and bloggers alike should look forward to. That gives us more knowledge on what to blog about in the future. :)
Blogapalooza has also invited speakers (like they always do) to talk about blogging and everything that has to do with it. The one I was able to listen to was during the interview with the Mindanao and Visayas bloggers. Oh, I wish I’ve known them before Blogapalooza, I could’ve approached them and talk to them in Bisaya, lol! They talked about how they were able to manage their group, they talked about ways to monetize their blogs and more.
The Big Reveal – Let’s BUZZIN!
The big reveal was about Blogapalooza’s newest platform called BUZZIN! Buzzin connects businesses to influencers by using a high technology system that enables streamlined matching, objective measurement of key performance indicators, and monetization of content. This is another way to monetize our blogs and that’s really something wonderful to look forward too!
Hats off to the great minds of Blogapalooza for doing this. Now, B2B opportunities can be available 24/7 online! How it works is that they compare and measure hits, reach, and engagement among all content creators across all campaigns. Buzzin is a search trawler that figures out what bloggers write about, what niche interests bloggers the most, and what each blogger's stance is. Then it matchmakes the Blogger/Influencer with its perfect Business partner. (info source: BUZZIN website)
