Nate's 3rd Birthday Celebration x VBS 2017 Thanksgiving

Nate turned three more than a week ago, yay! Because it falls on a Friday, I thought it'd be great to celebrate the day after instead. When I asked Nate what he wanted for his birthday, he said he wanted to go to the beach. Nate loves going to the beach and pool, just like most kids (but he does not like taking a bath, lol!).

Since we live in a kingdom 'far far' away (like Shrek, lol) from the beach, I decided to just do it in a pool near us - saves time, energy and money. :D And since our DVBS 2017 just recently concluded, I decided we'll just celebrate our VBS thanksgiving along with Nate's 3rd birthday celebration.

I told them to prepare for their entrance fee and not worry about food and fare anymore as one youth member offered financial help. The place is important but not as much as important as the bonding itself, so I settled with a less expensive pool with an affordable entrance fee for everyone's convenience. I decided we'd stay in Villa Lucilla in Montalban, Rizal, since the water was cleaner when I went there early morning that day, lol.

We arrived at around 9 AM and left the place at around 5:20 PM. We had devotion where Ptr. Boni Arguelles gave a short meditation of the word of God about giving thanks and God's blessings. We sang birthday songs for Nate, he blew his birthday candle, then we spent the rest of the time swimming, eating, chatting and repeat.

I think it's safe to say everyone had a great time. The happiest I think was Nate - he had a great time bonding with his church ates and kuyas. And I am so happy for him also. I'm glad he enjoyed his simple but fun-filled birthday celebration.

Belated happy birthday, my Nate!

  1. Belated Happy Birthday Nate! Wow the picture shows how much this kiddo enjoyed his birthday treat.. When I was a kid, I never really appreciate beaches haha I have that strange fear of the sea when I was young... good thing I was able to overcome it haha
Anyway, I'm sure you and your kiddo had a blast!

  4. Belated happy birthday, Nate! I have a 1.6 year old boy, and I hope that he grows to love swimming as much as your little boy does. Right now, he's scared of swimming. >.< Looking at the pictures, Nate really looks like he had tons of fun, and the resort looks clean. It's really hard and stressful to plan a trip to the beach, so I'm happy that you were able to find a good resort that worked for everyone. :)

  5. It really is quite a bummer to be living far away from the beaches, not? I know I'd visit everyday if there is one near me. Good thing Nate love the beach, my little one is squeamish about the sand that goes on his feet, so the beach and him does not agree much! Haha!

Belated happy 3rd birthday, Nate! I am sure the Lord will bless you so you'd grow up to be a fine young man! :)

  6. We live 2000 kilometres from the nearest beach and if my kid wanted me to take him to a beach, I will simply faint. Happy birthday , Nate. Hope you had a very good time with your mum and papa. I shall keep an eye on your progress now )))

  7. Whenever I'm here in Manila, I always feel like a loser because beaches are too far away. I envy people who drive to the beach. But, I realized I'm also lucky because I have a province that I call home. The beaches there are just a few minutes away. Happy birthday to Nate! Hope he gets to see more beaches and paradise!

    1. I would love for him to see more beaches growing up too! And if our plan to move will be realized, we'll be so much nearer the beach.

  8. Happy birthday, little fellow. :) I hope you live healthy for many more years.
And organizing birthday party and including the pool and swimming is a great idea. You will not only have a great time, but you will also build stronger bond with both, your family and friends.

  9. This is so cool. I can truly relate to your kid, I like goin' to the beach, but when I get there, I rather just gaze around and listen to the waves kissing the coast than dousing myself in the clear water. That's weird of me even until now. Anyway, I know that even it wasn't held on the beach, but I'm sure that your kid will be very happy about it. Happy birthday!

    1. That sounds really wonderful! That's what I like to do at the beach also. Just feel the breeze and reminisce. It's just a perfect place for that! Thank you for the greetings! ♥

  10. A happy birthday to your Nate. I truly love Nate's smile. So genuine. I also admire how you were able to teach Nate to talk that much. He can be real inspiring. He could speak his mind and act even beyond his age.

    1. I hope he continues to be expressive hanggang paglaki. And I hope that by encouraging him to say what he feels now, will eventually make him a very open person to us, kahit malaki na sya.
