How to Enable Cash on Delivery (COD) Option for Shopee Sellers

Just recently, I started selling items in Shopee. Most of them are Nate's stuff that he doesn't need anymore, mostly clothes. I've had two completed transactions so far and I got a fair amount of money from Nate's destash which I plan to add to his savings.

Shopee is a good place to sell, you just snap your photos and leave it there, soon enough you'll get an inquiry from customers. Perfect for people like me who just want to destash a few items.

During my last transaction, however, I was asked if there's any way she can pay via COD. I would like to be able to offer that for her convenience so I searched online. Boy, I didn't get a straight answer from Google search! Either I didn't search for the right keywords or there really isn't enough posts about this feature (hence, this post, lol).

I even asked Mhaan about it to see if she knows how. Her instructions were clear, the only problem was I didn't see those in my account settings. So I went and asked Shopee for assistance. A few hours after, I got an answer from Shopee's FB page:

Hi Nilyn, Thank you for reaching Shopee Philippines. We are glad to know that you are interested to join our COD and free shipping promo.
COD payment option is available for sellers who are already participants on LBC and Black Arrow free shipping integrated promo with pick up address located inside Metro Manila.
We highly recommend you to nominate a pick up address on your app and set it on default.
Our system will automatically send an application to our team based on your given pick up address.
You will be notify on app if you are qualify or approved on free shipping promo within 7 days.

Thank you, have a good night!

So, unfortunately, one has to have a Metro Manila pickup address in order to enable Cash on Delivery for Shopee. I don't qualify since I'm in Rizal and I told the buyer about it. Thankfully, though, she still proceeded with the order.

  1. I used to sell preloved stuff before, I stopped because shipping the stuff is not easy. Sometimes mas malaki pa gastos ko sa fare kaysa sa profit sa pagpunta ko sa courier. hehehe! I don't know if pwede din pick-up na lang sa bahay. Like you, I also live in province so baka wala din option like sa Shopee na wala COD.

  4. Recently, I shopped with shopee and liked the experience. I am also thrilled about the points or coins earned plus the many payment options. Reading this post makes me think I should have sell some of our stuff. But then, maybe next time. Now I know na where to head to should I opt to sell some items.

  5. I like selling in shopee. there are items there na super mura talaga... but sometimes... may mga fake din, so we have to be careful in buying pa din.
