Plans and Prayers for 2017

This post is a little late but as they say, better late than never. :D

I tried my best to finish all my pending posts for December 2016 first before I start with my 2017 posts. So now that everything is posted, all lights are green for my 2017 posts (and I pray that this year will be a fruitful year for us).

With that, here are our plans and prayers for 2017. These, I will check next year and will be my guide and list of God’s faithfulness to me and my loved ones this year. Lo, here are my prayers and plans this year.

Our short (yet memorable) Mt. Samat Shrine visit

God is great, He gave me what my heart desired. Before we even left for Kid's Camp 2016, I was so convinced that we would go to Mt. Samat Shrine (by hook or by crook). I have a few personal reasons for doing so, one of which is: my youngest sister, mother-in-law, and Nate have never been there yet.

Kid's Camp 2016: The experience, the recollection and Nate's First Time

December was such a busy month for all of us. As for me and my family, what made it even busier was the Kid's Camp 2016 that we attended. Most of the camps that our church has are located in our bible school in Bagac, Bataan. Last year, I thought it was about time for Nate to experience his first Kid's Camp.

Kid's Camp 2016
Venue: International Grace Bible Institute (IGBI) - Bataan Campus
Theme: "Batang B.I.D.A. : Batang Bibliya ang Inaaral, Disiplina'y Asahan"
Text: 2 Tim. 2:15
Date: December 27 - 30, 2016
*Estimated delegates: 90
*Estimated adult attendees: 50 (or more)
*(This is just my personal estimate; I don't have the exact count of the attendees during the camp).

1. To enlighten the mind of every child that "Batang BIDA" means a child who learns from the Bible and makes an application out of it.
2. To teach every child some of the Basic Doctrines such as Doctrine of the Bible, Deity of Christ, Redemption and Believer's Walk in simplest form.
3. To turn self-centeredness of every child into Christ-centeredness.
4. To reinforce the interest of every child in studying the Bible.
5. To stimulate discipline in the heart of every child through the principles of the Bible.

Manang’s Chicken SM San Mateo

This is a late post. Really late. But as they say, better late than never. I’m one of the bloggers who got invited to visit Manang’s Chicken last December, before the busy holidays that is, and got to experience their tasty offers. So yeah, here’s what I can say about Manang’s Chicken in SM City San Mateo.

1.  Why “Manang”?
The exact same question I asked when we were there. Obviously, I’ve never tried this resto yet so I got so curious about the name. My question was answered. That chicken and other recipes we were enjoying have been a staple at the owner’s family dining table for the past 20 years (I’m so glad they shared it with us!). Their cook, whom they affectionately called “Manang,” whipped it up for all of their family occasions and nobody ever got enough of it.

God's Faithfulness in 2016

It has been my goal since last year to write my prayers every January and see how God answers my prayers by checking it the following year. Last year, I had 7 prayers for 2016 – today, I’m reviewing them to see how God has been so good in our lives.

1. Good health.
God is definitely good in our lives last year. No one in the family got admitted to the hospital and for that, I am grateful. Going to the hospital is one of the stressful things that we want to be doing. Also, it breaks our savings/emergency account, so I am really thankful to God for giving us good health last year.

From Worrisome to Worry-free: My hospital experiences and how they affect my life

All my life, I’ve only been admitted to the hospital twice. The first one gave me so many traumas from needles and getting sick again; the second one gave a mix of fear, courage, and joy.

It was an ordinary day; I was feeling uneasy since I had a mild fever the night before that. While sitting at our long, rustic table, I noticed something: there were tiny red spots on my arms. Puzzled, I called my mother who was busy preparing a simple lunch for all of us. She checked me out and then said that she would need to take me to the hospital.
