TMS Health Solutions Promotes Stress Awareness For Everyone

Many sociologists are fully aware of how stress can affect one’s mental health. In fact, the procedures of stress have already been broken down by the experts in order to provide a better detail on how stress occurs. The so-called stress process is made of three key factors: the source of it, a mediator of the stress and its manifestations.

That’s why TMS Health wishes to provide an overview of how stress completely works and how it can affect your mental health in the long run if too much stress accumulates in the body. Through the means of their knowledge and their signature TMS Therapy, rest assured that stress can be alleviated and controlled for a better life.

Colorgram at SM San Mateo

I was invited to join the launch of ColorGram in our go-to mall, SM City San Mateo yesterday. So despite the gloomy weather, Nate and I visited the launch and I guess, it's safe to say, we - or should I say - NATE enjoyed ColorGram soooo much! He wouldn't stop jumping and roaming around - I had to tell him to calm down too many times! LOL.

What I Can Say About Confession Couple

For the first time in years, I watched another South Korean television series! I could be late for this but better late than never. LOL.

Thank goodness this is just a 12-ep long TV series because I was still the same person I feared I'd be when watching TV series, ha!

The reason why I don't want to commit to watching TV series was that I knew I'd get addicted and I'd compromise too many things just to finish the series as soon as I can. I can just imagine how I was able to complete this series in 2 days!

Jamaica - for Family Travels *I wish, I wish!*

We all love traveling, don't we? Whether you're an extrovert or an introvert, you love traveling! Who doesn't love to be one with nature and experience peace and quietness, not to mention the excitement of going to an extremely new place?

As a family, we haven't really traveled a lot, especially that Dane isn't with us. Don't get me wrong, I still love to go places but it's just different when you're already a family person and one of the members of the family isn't on the trip.

My Video Resume + Life Lately

As shown in the title above, I'm sharing with you the first video resume sample I created last month. I recently joined a month-long webinar with Filipina Homebased moms in hopes of widening my understanding on freelancing. This is also why I don't post often recently (but that's another story because lately, I'm feeling like my blog is going nowhere).

Will I ever be using this video resume?

NO NO To Second-Hand Smoking (SHS)

Nate, being daldalito, tumingin sa kanya, then tumingin sakin sabay sabi:

"Ma, 'di ba hindi good ang mag-smoke? Nag smoke sya." Sabay tingin kay kuya.

Fully Trusting God

Dane and I have been married for 5 years now and are in a relationship for 10 years this coming October. We have had so many plans for us and for our family - some were realized, some were totally forgotten.

Our Informal Homeschooling Update

In my previous post, I talked about us deciding to delay enrolling Nate in a school for another year and just informally homeschooling for the last year that he's exclusively ours.

So far, our so-called homeschooling is going fine. We spend 1.5 - 2 hours every Mondays to Fridays for this. I call it informal homeschooling because there was no curriculum and seminar before this. I just want for Nate to learn how to read and write before we enroll him. So far, things are going really well.

5 Tips to Taking Care of Your Lawn During the Summer

Here in the Philippines, the rainy season has officially ended. In fact, the recent typhoon has just left the Philippine area of responsibility. On the complete opposite, though, summer has just started in the other parts of the Globe like the USA. It is now their time to bond and enjoy the lovely beaches. :)

A green, healthy lawn adds value to your home. Even more, it adds beauty and a homey feeling whenever we are in the comfort of our own house. However, the summer heat can take a toll on your lawn which means that you may need to pay some extra attention to it. It also needs the right amount of water in order to avoid drying up in the sunlight. Your grass could quickly become dull or dry if you do not take care of it beforehand. Once you see early signs of pests or drying up in small patch areas, do not wait for it to spread out.

Bye Summer, Hello Bed Weather (and Informal Homeschooling)

Just like that, summer is done and we've already spent the first half of 2018!

Where did time go, seriously?

If you notice, this year, I don't post on this blog as often as I did 2 years ago.

I have been contemplating and discussing with Dane since last February or March whether or not we should enroll Nate to a school already.

While He Plays...

I am writing this while Nate plays inside a playhouse and I'm outside waiting for him.

I watch him run, have fun and do his own thing - on his own now. The last time we were here, he's still not allowed inside without a guardian.

This reality hits me yet again - my son is growing up sooo fast! It seems like it was just yesterday when I shed my first tear after seeing him for the first time. Now, he's slowly doing this on his own.

I hear so many advice from fellow moms already about treasuring every moment. And it's true, 100%.

Although I am proud of his milestones, I am sad at the same time because I know that every achievement is one step closer to him being independent.

Later on, he'll be all grown up and will leave us...Oh, I don't want to even think about it.

We all go through the selfless phase. I have and it wasn't easy. Who knows, I might go through that again. And it will never be easy having to go through all of it again. I can't imagine how tiresome it was and every time I look back, I can't help but thank God that we made it.

Parenting is never easy and I'll be honest I'm torn whenever I think about having another child. Having another one sounds really great but at the same time, my postpartum experience was a bit traumatic for me - at least for the first 2 years. So at this time, I don't think I'm ready for another one and I don't know when I'll be but I know someday I will be.

For every mom who is too tired because of lack of sleep now, know that this will not last long. And one day, when you start seeing your child do things on his/her own, you'll look back and say that everything was definitely worth it!

Aja, moms!

No Mom Is An Island: Becoming a WAHM with FHMoms

Photo grabbed from the FHMoms group page
What I thought was an ordinary day after work was one of the days I'll always be thankful for - the day I joined a closed Facebook group called Filipina Homebased Moms or FHMoms (recommended on my newsfeed by Facebook).

FHMoms is a community of Filipina WAHMs and WAHM-wannabes, and girl, I tell you, this group is among the FB groups that I feel I really belong.

Book Review: One Year Devotions for Preschoolers: Grow with God

Daily family Bible reading and devotion was a part of my life since I was little. It was how our parents raised us up. Now that I'm older, I have to admit I have stopped studying and reading God's word for years. During those times that I was not diligently seeking His word, I was not happy and at peace.

Prevention VS Cure: Taking Charge of Your Family's Health

The Unavoidable
Death is inevitable. Not everyone here on Earth lives forever - we all know that. According to on its birth and death rates statistics, 151,600 people die each day. This was back in 2011, the number may have increased 7 years later.

And even though this number includes accidents, we all know many of these deaths are caused by sickness and diseases.

Erceflora ProbiBears: A 2-in-1 Probiotic Supplement for Kids

We all hate the feeling when our kid/s get sick - mapalagnat man yan, ubo, sipon or sakit ng tiyan.

Compared to adults, kids have a higher risk of getting digestive health-related diseases such as diarrhea and constipation from harmful bacteria.

Jampacked Mother's Day 2018 Celebration

Belated Happy Mother's to all my fellow moms! How did your Mother's day go? I hope you had a fun Mother's Day celebration yourself. Doesn't have to be all bongga, mas importante na kasama ang pamilya.

As for us, I didn't plan anything grand for the Mother's Day, even if I'm a mom now, Mother's Day is still more about remembering my mother and what she's done for our family.

Be Kind - You Don't Know How Much Impact it Can Do to Someone

When you are a customer service rep, you are so used to screaming, lying and cursing mouths over the phone that even if you put your headset away from your ears you can still hear them scream atop their lungs.

Don't ask me how I survived this job for almost 9 years now 'coz I don't know the answer either. LOL!

Happy 4th Birthday, Nate! ♥

Dear Nate,

How do I feel about your birthday?

I feel happy and sad at the same time. Happy and proud for all the milestones you achieved this year and sad that you're slowly growing up.
Every time I think about you becoming a teen and starting to feel that your mama is "baduy", I feel really sad. :(

Time will come you'll meet more people, have new friends and may not think of me as "cool" anymore but with the bonding that we have now that you're young, I am hoping (and praying) that we will stay close until you become an adult.

I love you so much, Nate.

I pray that you continue to grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I also pray that He will continue to use me and your papa to prepare you for the future mentally, socially, emotionally, financially, and most of all, spiritually.

Please don't forget that everything we do has something to do with you.

Happy 4th birthday, anak! ♥

Top 5 Advice to First-time Moms

A few days ago, I got a message from my Facebook Page from an expectant mommy asking for an advice as she's a first-time mom. I gave her my #1 advice which is "rest as much as you can" (and a few more). I couldn't stop thinking of her so I thought "how can I help her further?" Then I realized it would be nice to ask more moms for an advice also, so I wrote this on my page:

Kaya Mo ‛Yan, Mommy!

Bills dito, bills do'n, tuition, utang, at marami pang iba.

Choosing Good Quality Tires for Your Vehicle

Tires play a vital role in vehicle safety and their importance cannot be taken lightly. Tires are the only part of the vehicle that touches the road. The tires condition can affect the vehicle’s performance on the road, the handling, and can place our safety at risk. The tires condition can also affect the fuel consumption of the vehicle.

Hong Kong DIY Family Trip 2018

This post is almost 3 months delayed, whoah!!! Nevertheless, I'm happy I'm finally able to share our first family international trip to Hong Kong last January 28 - February 3, 2018! Yay!

First of all, shout out to my friend, Patrick for restoring all the photos from my corrupt microSD card. Oh, he's such a savior and I can't thank him enough for doing this! I was so broken hearted, when I was sure that the photos are restored, I couldn't contain my happiness. Thanks so much, Pat! :) If not for you, we'd only have less than a hundred photos from this trip.

The Power of Praying for One Another

Has anyone told you "I have prayed for you"? Do you remember how wonderful it is to hear that from them?

Someone did not just remember you, someone actually prayed for you, wished you well, and even asked God to watch over you. When I hear this from someone, I instantly feel at peace.

I believe in the power of prayer.

5 Tips to Teaching English Composition

Teachers are always looking for new and exciting ways to improve in the classroom. After all, your approach to teaching will determine how excited and ready to learn your students will be. That’s a huge responsibility and is especially true when it comes to teaching English composition.

Let’s face it: most students typically don’t like to write compositions. Learning how to structure their thoughts and frame their arguments can be a difficult challenge indeed – one that many students would prefer not to tackle. However, as teachers, we understand just how vital these skills can be to our assuring our students’ success in the adult world.

Enjoying Life's Little Surprises

Parents Get Up (No Matter What)

Last week was challenging for me. I was sick almost every day. I'm glad I am now healed and can go back to doing the things I love to do.

Sunday last week, I had dysmenorrhea around the time I was teaching Sunday School in our youth department. I haven't had dysmenorrhea in a long time and the possible reason I had one that day was probably that I was 5 days delayed (which is another story as we thought I was pregnant, lol.).  Thankfully, the medicine did the trick and I was able to still teach.

Road to Life Insurance: My Sunlife VUL

Sometime last year, I decided to start learning about finances and investing. I started learning by watching YouTube videos about financial literacy and reading financial-related sites. Although I can't say I am completely well-versed now 'coz really, I still have a lot to learn, I can say that I have learned some of the basic things already.

If you are a friend from Facebook,  you may have seen my post about Dane leaving again to go back to Saudi Arabia and work. He was on vacation for 42 days and it was one of the happiest days of my life.

But just as things in this have to end, so was his vacation.  And so our journey for another year away has begun yet again. Good thing I'm not the only one, my friend's husband also had to leave again about a month before Dane left.

3 "Sabaw" Moments in Hong Kong

While I wait (with fingers and feet crossed) for my friend to try to retrieve my corrupt microSD card, let me share with you our sabaw moments when we were in Hong Kong. These experiences are both funny and embarrassing at the same time. :)

1. The Airport MTR
On most of our flights, local flights that is (since HK was our first int'l flight together), Dane and I are among the last people to leave the plane. Especially now that we have Nate, ayaw na namin makipagsiksikan at makipagbakbakan sa mga pasahero para lang makalabas. So we did the same when we arrived in Hong Kong International Airport.

Davao del Norte Sports and Tourism Complex

Tagum City is the home of the Davao City Provincial Capitol and the Davao del Norte Sports and Tourism Complex (formerly named Davao Sports Complex which was torn by the fire in 2003). Since the place is just about a few hours away from where our relatives live, I made sure that Nate gets to see the sports complex.

Most Common Mistakes When Caring for Your Classic Car

Credit: Pixabay
A classic car you take to shows requires tender loving care. You do not want to leave it out in the open or have it sitting in your garage unprotected. Invest in a car storage bubble so that contaminants never make contact with the surface. You also want to avoid the following mistakes when performing maintenance on such an expensive, delicate vehicle.

The 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman

We were scheduled to visit the Ocean Park Adventure during our second day in Hong Kong. It was the first attraction on our itinerary. I booked the said theme park months ago via Klook and we were given instructions on where to wait for the bus that would take us to Ocean Park.

Since the meeting place was just about 15 minutes away from where we stay, I thought it would be easy to go there even without a mobile internet connection. I thought it would be nice to do it the traditional way - to ask around from people. I was so wrong.

My Miniso Mongkok, Erm, Haul (?)

Our trip to Hong Kong was great! It was too cold but we all had a great time. It was just the three of us there, unlike here at home where we live with other family members, so it's nice to be able to have that time when it's just us and no one else.

Kalanggaman Island: DIY Budget Trip + A Few Travel Tips

Just when I thought we won't make it to Palompon because of the typhoon in Leyte last December, God gave us a good weather last January 6 so our original plan to go visit Kalanggaman Island was realized!

The day we left we flew back to Manila from our 2-week stay at my hometown, was the also the same day Dane arrived from KSA! We reunited with Dane at NAIA terminal 3 in December 30, we ate lunch and checked in for our flight to Tacloban. Nate is a great boy, kinaya nya ang mga mahahaba at nakakapagod na biyahe! All he did was sleep on almost all flights! lol.

Dane's hometown is in Isabel, Leyte and since the place is just a few hours away from Kalanggaman Island, we didn't want to miss experiencing the place. I mean, who wouldn't, right? So one early Saturday morning, we prepped to leave going to the splendid island.

Kalanggaman, in Bisaya, means a place with many birds (from the word langgam, which means bird in Bisaya). On the other hand, "langgam" in Filipino means ants, so if we say kalanggaman in Tagalog, it means a place with lots of ants, which is also true in this island, kasi andami ding langgam!

The happy guy saying thanks for visiting his mama's blog. :)

This Blog is Done Hibernating :)

Hello, hello! :)

I am sad right now because Dane just left to KSA but I don't wanna dwell on the feeling of loneliness, hence, the blog. haha.

I am finally back! I have so many stories to tell, I can't wait to start writing about them soon! :)

I don't know if this blog has a frequent reader aside from me (lol) but if anyone noticed, I have been on and off blogging since late last year. For so many reasons, of course, but the #1 reason for it is my dearest Dane. He went home and I wanted to make the most out of his vacation. So if that means putting blogging aside to make more time for my husband, I would gladly do it.

Hometown Visit 2017

Finally, after two years, Nate and I were able to visit my family in Tagum City last December. I can still remember the excitement we had while going to the airport as it was Nate's first time to fly after two years.

We stayed in Tagum for almost two weeks. Sadly, Dane didn't make it, but still, we had a great time there. It's where I celebrated my 29th birthday. And, of course, as always, thank God for the opportunity to be with family and for my job, which I can take with me wherever I go (as long as there's a reliable internet connection).

2018 Savings Challenge - Can I Do This?

Many people start each year with a new year resolution. I am not used to doing that, what Dane and I have are plans and prayers for the year (which reminds me, I haven't done this year's yet, haha). I did something different since last year, though. I tried the saving challenge for the first time! It's called the "24-payout money challenge". Maliit na ipon lang as I just wanted to gauge myself and see if I can really do it - maintain saving money for a year. I didn't actually think I could do it but I did! Wooot! That was what I used when we visited my family in Tagum City last month.

It's the middle of December and I know I've been away for quite a long time already but I'll surely be updating this blog soon with more memories a few weeks from now.

For now, just want to drop by to post my "HAPPY NEW YEAR" greeting!
